The Women’s Division kicked off the New Year with
a fun Membership Social on January 19th hosted by Board members
Shonda Schaefer and Kathee Livengood.
Our theme for 2010 is “Service
from the Heart,” and we are proud to carry on a legacy of spreading
goodwill. The Women’s Division was founded in 1965 by a
small group of women Chamber members and visionaries who were passionate
about the growth of Grapevine through business opportunities and who also
recognized the importance of sharing their skills with those in the community
with limited resources. Thus began
their work to help children and the elderly in need throughout the
community. Don’t miss the February 16th
luncheon meeting when Kathee Livengood and friends will take us down memory
lane and present a special program on “the History of the Women’s Division.”

O’Dell for being presented the D.E. Box “Citizen of the Year” award during
the annual Chamber of Commerce Award banquet held Friday, January 22nd
at the Great Wolf Lodge. Duff sets a
model example for all of us and it was a special night for all members of the
Grapevine Chamber to celebrate the accomplishments of 2009 and recognize key
individuals and businesses who have truly made a difference in our community. Remember to share the news and “Save the Date”,

Thank you to all
of the women who stopped by the Christmas Spirit display table at the
Membership Tea in January. If you had
a chance to read some of the heartfelt thank you cards from the GRACE clients
we were able to serve in December you will understand why we are so
passionate about this program. We
appreciate all of you who signed up to help us out with some of the 2010
activities. Do not be concerned if
you did not add your name to the list.
You can be sure that we will be notifying everyone as opportunities to
participate arise. Our next project will
be the Spring Sunshine Baskets that we distribute in April. Spring is a beautiful time of year and a
good time to add a little extra happiness to GRACE senior and disabled
clients. We will let you know when we
are going to meet to start planning for the baskets. If you should see a reasonably priced
container or basket of some type that might be appropriate for filling with
small gifts and products, please let us know. It should be reusable and suitable for men or women. We hope you have had a

Special thanks goes to Kathee Livengood and Shonda Schaefer for all their hard work in organizing our special January Membership Social, to all the dedicated members of the Board for setting up and being available for Women’s Division information at their display tables and to all members who brought guests to learn about our wonderful organization. The friendship, food, and fun made for a special day as we started a new fiscal year and welcomed many returning members and 12 new members! Please join us in welcoming our newest members that include: Jeanette Dickey, Deborah Gray, Sara Gray, Beata Hill, Julie Pickler, Margie Salame, Brenda Sexton Sanders, Carolyn Sims, Traci Southers, Sharron Spencer, Beth Whitman, and Nancy Williams. Don’t forget that it is time to renew your membership for our fiscal year January 1 – December 31, 2010. Membership forms can be found online, and we will have some available at our February meeting. We need you to complete your membership AND the website directory information forms for confirmation of information that will be printed in the membership directory and published on our website. In addition, members have the option this year of purchasing a magnetic Women’s Division nametag with your name and/or company’s name for $5.00 each. Order forms for nametags are also available online and at the monthly meetings. Please remember to RSVP for our monthly luncheon being held on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, 11:45 a.m. at Stacy's Furniture Community Room, 3rd Floor. Reservations can be made by emailing msjkane@sbcglobal.net or calling (817) 360-0684. Please invite a guest to attend and learn about the history and wonderful achievements of our organization that will be presented by Kathee Livengood and others. The cost of our luncheon is $15.00 with advance reservation, $17.00 if you RSVP to attend and do not show, and $25.00 without a reservation. We have the capability to accept credit cards, and you can pay online for your membership dues, monthly luncheons, pre-pay for the year, and all other Women’s Division activities. Again, please renew your membership for 2010 to give your “Service from the Heart” to our community as a member of the Grapevine Women's Division! I look forward
